10 journal prompts to help you cultivate compassion and kindness for yourself

Without fail, the mums I work with are kind, compassionate and intelligent. And yet, most of them are their own harshest critics. They speak to themselves in a way they would never speak to a friend, constantly putting themselves down or beating themselves up.

These Journal prompts are questions I might ask in my hypnotherapy sessions to support mums to talk and reflect more kindly about themselves. Do you find it easy or difficult to speak to yourself in a kind and compassionate way? Try some of the questions and see how you get on. We can learn to be a loving and kind friend to ourselves, it might take time, effort and repetition but it’s so worthwhile. And always remember we learn how to speak to ourselves from those around us, your little ones are always watching and listening.

    Think about the strengths and qualities you have, make a longer list if you can!

  2. What do I feel proud of in my parenting journey so far?
    Acknowledge moments, big or small, where you feel you've done well.
