Hi, I’m Jo,
That’s me with my little boy, enjoying ourselves in the sunshine. I really was enjoying myself that day, but it had taken a lot to get to that point. As a primary school teacher who looked after small children all day I expected to sail through parenthood. I didn’t count on birth trauma and postnatal anxiety showing up to ruin the party!
But they did and everything felt hard and overwhelming for quite some time. I knew it wasn’t how I wanted to feel and it wasn’t what I or my family deserved. So I started to learn about parenting, birth, trauma and mental health and along the way I found people who helped me feel like myself again.
After nine years working in the education system, I hung up my metaphorical teaching hat and made it my new mission to help families in a different way.
Now, as a solution focused clinical hypnotherapist and psychotherapist, I help parents to find themselves again, to feel confident again and to heal. Whether that’s from birth trauma, anxiety, depression or the sheer overwhelm of life and parenting, I can help you to find a way back to yourself.
When I’m not working, you can find me snuggled up in a slanket (blanket with sleeves… yes, you need one), exploring the great outdoors and admiring the flora and fauna that come with it, or herding my own small child through life!
I have a lovely therapy room where you can attend in person hypnotherapy in Peterborough and I also work online with clients from all over the UK.
